Igbo World Assembly Berates Ohanaeze Youths For Suspending Nwodo
Asks: Can a child suspend his father? Says it's “childish suspension”
The Igbo World Assembly (IWA) has berated the Ohanaeze Youths Council [OYC] for suspending the President –General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr Nnia Nwodo.
IWA said this in a statement signed by IWA Chairman, Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze and the IWA Vice Chairman, Christian Onuorah.
The statement reads:
In Igbo culture can a child suspend his father?
Igbo World Assembly (IWA) in reacting to the purported suspension by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo youth Wing and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Women Wing would like to state the fact:
That the Youth Wing was suspended by the previous Ohaneze Ndigbo administration led by Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey for indiscipline and insubordination.
In October 2017, the Imeobi of Ohanaeze Ndigbo (the highest decision making body) confirmed the suspension in addition, suspended the Women Wing for the same behaviour.
The election being organised by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo this month prompted them to falsely announce the suspension.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo under the leadership of Dr. Nnia Nwodo, the Ike of Ukehe, is doing excellent job Ndigbo.
Igbo Word Assembly (IWA) is in full support with his administration and urges Ndigbo to support and allow him to continue his job.
Igbo World Assembly (IWA) is very proud and happy the way Ohanaeze is being administered.
Ndigbo need focus and strong leadership. Dr Nnia Nwodo is giving Ndigbo the leadership.
