Build The Youth Build The Nation ― By Abu Maigoro

Frankly speaking Nigerian youths are in dire need of urgent attention to the challenges facing their sprightly lives. In a recent time they became overzealous, willing to serve to exhibit their talent in both public and private sector.

In particular are the Plateau youths which the unfortunate days of crisis prevented them from exposure. Some youth extend their desire to go into self-venture and promote entrepreneurship.

Apart from abundant natural resources and climax, this is a state where every field has an expert that can drive the economy to the next level. What is needed was the opportunity and chance from all levels especially federal government.

And it’s obvious that one of the sons of the Plateau is the current minister for Sports and Youth development, a patriotic, sagacious and a protagonist who would dedicate everything to the youth. He’s youth friendly, an advocator of peace, someone who has youth at heart.

Barrister Solomon Dalung is that person who could hardly down indulgence, who is always ready to disencumber the burden of the youth.

Therefore, it has become very necessary at this very critical time to remind the Hon minister the kind of sacrifice, contribution and the support of this administration by the Nigerian youth especially plateau youth.

The enthusiasm shown by the Nigerian youth before, during and after 2015 general elections was creditable which can only be rewarded through engagement in skill acquisition, employment, entrepreneurship, scholarship and soft loans.

Nigerian youths deserved some praises.

They always circumspect, they decided to change the government through peaceful means by ballot boxes, as many youths will not still be standing with such proportion of daily denigration and psychological abuse in other countries as we witnessed in the last administration.

The Trauma of the immigration employment scam was enough to take on the street for revolution.

The consequences of unemployment impact harshly on the quality of life of an affected individual and families.

Also the social cost of retrenchment by the previous administration, corruption, and prolong unemployment are said to be the primary source of poverty, youth recklessness, prostitution, racketeer, terrorism and all sort of transgressions.

We could only distinct this government with the previous one when the youth are given the desired merit.

We don’t need to tell the Hon minister much of repercussion faced by Nigerian youth because he has been a human right activist and sacrificer who led Nigerian youth in the course of social revolutions.

And on December 2, 2015 the Minister told the vanguard newspapers an incentive comment, I quote..

“The statistic that 82 per cent of Nigerians are living below poverty line is unacceptable; the APC manifesto on poverty alleviation and youth empowerment will be implemented to the letter,’’ the statement quoted Dalung as saying.

But have we seen anything coming from his ministry? The statistics may have exponentially increased to a certain level. Much is needed to address this forbearance.

If I may recall, it’s the plateau youth that motivate and encourage Barr Solomon Dalung to contest for Governorship because they believe in his leadership style – of selflessness, fairness, fearlessness, workaholic and eloquence who knows the state of disquietude facing Nigerian youth.

It is obvious some disremember that Hon Dalung is heading two ministries as he fervent sports solemnly while the youth ministry gets less fortitude.
