US Ambassador, UK Consulate General Visit Gov Fayose
The Ambassador of the United State to Nigeria, alongside the Consulate General of Britain, were in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Friday in a solidarity visit to Governor Ayodele Fayose.
Their visit came just two days after operatives of the Nigerian Police barricaded the Ekiti State Government House on Wednesday.
During the ensuing imbroglio, the tear-gassed onlookers and passers-by and molested Governor Fayose who was caught on television crying.
Their visit was to assure the brutalized governor that the eyes of the world are on Ekiti election coming up on Saturday.
Recall that the Nigerian police deployed 30,000 personnels the state just to conduct a governorship election.
Pundits have wondered why such force was not deployed to Benue, Sokoto, Zamfara, Borno, Adamawa and states to fight and disarm the marauding herdsmen that are killing and maiming innocent citizens.
