There has been denial of raid involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the house of a former governor of Gombe state, Danjuma Goje.
There have been reports that the anti-graft stormed the Abuja residence of the former governor on Thursday evening.
The EFCC via its Twitter handle has however denied any involvement in the raid.
The agency said, “Please disregard online reports claiming the EFCC raided the Abuja home of Senator Danjuma Goje.
“The report is FALSE as the Commission was not a part of any such activity.”
A police source has however confirmed that some of its officers raided the residence.
At least 25 mobile police officers were sighted outside the building, located on Haile Selassie Street, Asokoro.
According to a security source, the operatives were from the Monitoring Unit of the Inspector General of Police, and were on a mission to recover funds believed to be hidden in the building.
