Integrity group Retracts allegation against Advante Consultancy, Capital Index
Integrity group led by Livingstone Wechie has retracted his allegations against Advancte consultancy , Capital index.
Wechie revealed that the Executive Governor of Rivers state, Nyeson Wike gave the group false documents to nail the companies on the diversion of N70 billion proceeds allegedly accruing from sales of Power Plants and Assets belonging the state.
Wechie in an affidavit sworn at the High Court of Justice, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Suit No. FCT/HC/CV//2677 said that the documents relied upon in making publication are all false documents from Rivers state government.
Wechie in the affidavit agreed to retract the statement made in the newspaper and agreed that all documents relied upon in making said statement were all false.
Wechie also agreed to write a letter of Apology to the plaintiff any other person directly and indirectly affected by the offending publication against plaintiff.
It could be recalled that Integrity Group led by Livingstone Wechie, published on advertorials several reports and petitions to President Muhammadu Buhari, EFCC and ICPC against former Governor Rotimi Amaechi wherein it alleged among others that former Governor Rotimi Amaechi through Advante, Collect Solutions and Capital Index ltd respectively diverted more than Seventy Billion Naira proceeds allegedly accruing from sales of Power Plants and Assets belonging the the state, thus being the cause of action for defamation brought against Livingstone Wechie for and on behalf of the Integrity Group.
The three companies through their Lawyer, Emeka Etiaba SAN had on Monday told the FCT High Court 3 presided over by Justice S.E. Aladetoyinbo that his Clients were opting for an out of Court settlement with Livingstone Wechie.
Lawyer representing Livingstone Wechie, Godwin Oblah SAN did not object to the plea and the matter was adjourned to June 23, 2016 for report of settlement by the parties.
