IPAC Mourns Ocholi and General Abubakar

154

The Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC), the umbrella body of all registered Political Parties in Nigeria received with great shock and heavy heart, the news of the untimely death of the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. James Ocholi (SAN), his wife and son in a ghastly motor accident along Kaduna –Abuja expressway on Sunday, 6th March, 2016.

Our heart is also broken over the death of Major-General Yusha’u Abubakar, the Chief of Training and Operations (CTOP) at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.

The death of General Abubakar also happened as a result of a fatal motor accident along Maiduguri-Damaturu Road on Tuesday, 8th March 2016. These are one death too many.

A Legal luminary, Ocholi was an epitome of humility and excellence, while Major-General Abubakar is a patriotic, fearless, easy-going officer and gentleman, who distinguished himself in the fight against insurgency and also died in the active service of his fatherland.

We are heartbroken that they died at a time their services are mostly needed by the good people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Our thoughts and prayers are with members of the respective families of Ocholi family and General Abubakar, and pray to God Almighty to give them the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.

We Commiserate with President Muhammadu Buhari on the demise of his Minister and an acknowledged competent Change agent and the Chief of Training and Operations (CTOP) at the Army Headquarters.

We also condole the Nigerian Army, the Government and good people of Kogi and Plateau States for the death of their illustrious Sons.

May their gentle souls rest in the bosom of the Lord. Amen.

We also wish those that were in the same vehicle with Gen. Abubakar who sustained serious injuries quick recovery.

Chief Ogbuehi Dike

Publicity Secretary (IPAC)
