Just In: APGA chairman Oye refuses to endorse Soludo
By Eneh Victor Chigozie
On Saturday, March 6, 2021 there was a meeting at the Governor’s lodge Onitsha.
Before the meeting, however, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo invited all the traditional rulers from Old Aguata Union (OAU) to accompany him to inspect work at Anambra international airport.
On getting to the airport, they met the governor who was also on inspection work. Ozo Victor Oye, the embattled national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was equally there and other king makers.
After the inspection, they all joined the convoy of Governor Willie Obiano to Onitsha lodge where a brief meeting was held.
At Onitsha lodge, the governor while addressing the traditional rulers from OAU informed that “we” have adopted Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the candidate of APGA for November 6 governorship election.
He, therefore, told them to tell others who are aspiring to stop wasting their money and that they should support Soludo.
But Oye who spoke at the meeting failed to endorse Soludo. Oye was sagacious in his speech and couldn’t affirm the choice of Soludo as the candidate of APGA.
Once again, we commend Governor Obiano for taking to our advice. But he should go the extra mile.
This shouldn’t be left for the traditional rulers, he should summon a meeting of other aspirants and asked them to step down for Soludo.
That is the best way to go.
Our next report will be the position of Madam in all of these.
