The bandits that abducted one Felix Akinde, on Akure/Ikere road have on Thursday demanded a five million Naira ransom for his release.
The victim is a member of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ikere-Ekiti.
The kidnappers stormed the road close to the NYSC farm in Iju/Ita ogbulu in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo state and made away with their victim.
Akinde was travelling from Ikere through Akure, the Ondo state capital when he was pounced upon by the gunmen at a bad portion of the road.
The bandits abandoned the vehicle by the roadside and marched him through the forest.
ElombahNews was informed that the abductors made contact with the family and NURTW leaders and made the demand for the ransom.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relation Officers (PPRO) in Ondo State, Femi Joseph had assured that police officers have launched a manhunt and will arrest the perpetrators.
