Kaduna City stood still for former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as he arrived on Tuesday, accompanied by his aides.
At the Kaduna International Airport, several groups came in solidarity, varying banners and placards with inscriptions like ‘We are with you 2019’, Atiku for all’, ‘Sai Atiku 2019’, and several others.
He was accompanied in a long convoy of about 50 cars from the airport to his residence.
Though he could not address the press, it was gathered that he went straight upstairs to freshen himself and would attend to visitors.
But thousands of supporters thronged his gate, giving the security men hectic time to control.
When asked by the press, Chairman of Atiku Care Foundation, Kaduna Chapter, Comrade Ibrahim Danfulani said that they were on ground in solidarity with the former Vice President.
“We came here to show him that he has tremendous supporters in Kaduna who believe in his leadership style and would go all the way in supporting all his future political intentions,” he said.
Danfulani said that in today’s Nigeria, only few politicians can garner the kind of support that Atiku is getting.
