Alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, simply known as Evans, on Monday, appeared before the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere for a second arraignment.
He was arraigned before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo on charges bordering on kidnapping, murder and illegal possession of firearms.
The current charges are separate from the previous ones against him at the Ikeja High court.
Recall that he was, the penultimate week re-arraigned before Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Ikeja High Court.
He was brought to court by heavily armed security operatives including prison officials as they await the arrival of the presiding judge.
Meanwhile, in another development, another Lagos High Court, on Monday, slammed a N2 million damages against the Nigeria Police Force in the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by one Mr. Okwuchukwu Obiechina.
Mr Obiechina is the brother-in-law of alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans.
The presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Idris declared Obiechina’s arrest and detention constitutional.
He ruled that the remand order which the police claimed to have obtained from a Lagos Magistrates Court was invalid.
He, therefore, ordered the police to release, with immediate effect Mr Obiechina unconditionally, otherwise charge him to court if they have any case against him.
He also ordered the police to pay him the sum of N2m in damages.
The police is also to tender a public apology to Obiechina to be published in two national dailies.
