LEAKED: IGP telegraph reveals plans by Boko Haram to attack Jos & Abuja
A leaked telegraph message from the office of the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba Alkali, intercepted by ElombahNews police source, has revealed plans by Boko Haram terrorists to attack major cities in the country, particularly in Jos, Plateau State, and the FCT, Abuja.
This was disclosed in an Inspector-General of Police telegraph addressed to the Commissioners of Police of both Plateau State and FCT, Abuja.
The message was titled “Terror elements to expand frontiers of attack” and was signed by the Principal Staff Officer to Inspector-General of Police, Ag. CP Idowu Owonunwa.
It cited intelligence report at the disposal of the Inspector-General of Police which “uncovered plans by Boko Haram terrorists to attack major cities in the country, particularly in Jos, Plateau State, and the FCT, Abuja”.
According to the memo, “the proposed attacks would be coordinated by the duo of Muhammad Sani, a Boko Haram Commander, domiciled in Sambisa Forest and his Deputy, Suleiman [fnu], hibernating around Lawan Musa Zango, Gashua, Yobe State”.
The Inspector-General of Police, therefore, directed both Commissioners of Police to review the security architecture across all critical government infrastructures and Police facilities in their jurisdiction in order to checkmate the dastardly plans of the terrorists.
