Mr. Alexander Emeribe, a resident of Azaraegbelu Community, in Owerri North LG of Imo State escaped assassination by the whiskers following squabbles over land.
This was disclosed by a correspondent of ElombahNews, a former Senior Special Assistant On Media, Imo State House Of Assembly, Citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha, in a petition titled “Attempted murder of Alexander Emeribe at Azaraegbelu Community in Owerri, Imo North LGA“, addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Police Command.
ElombahNews gathered that Mr. Emeribe was slashed with matchet by one Mr. Emmanuel Emeribe who attacked him and his son, Chizaram Emeribe.
According to Citizen Samuelson Iwuoha, Mr. Emeribe, a septuagenarian had gone to farm on Tuesday with his youngest son, Chizaram but met a relative, Mr. Emeribe, with his wife and five children encroaching on his portion of farmland.

Attempted murder of Alexander Emeribe at Azaraegbelu Community in Owerri, Imo North LGA
I most humbly bring to your attention, the attempted murder of an Imo citizen, Mr Alexander Emeribe of Umunkwo kindred , Azaraegbelu Community, in Owerri North Local Government Area of the State.
The Elderly Alexander Emeribe, who is in his 70’s, left for his farm today Tuesday 28/04/2020 with his youngest son (Chizaram Emeribe) for the purpose of continuing his farm work which he started days earlier. When he got to his farm, he met a close relation (one Mr. Emmanuel Emeribe) with his wife and five children encroaching on his portion of farmland. When he asked questions to know why, Emmanuel emeribe and his family descended on him and his son (Chizaram) and inflicted matchet cuts on their hands, legs and on his head. They were left for dead but graciously, they were rescued and rushed to Emmanuel Hospital Nkwo Emeke in Emekuku Community, Owerri-North LGA.
Both father and son are currently responding to treatment, while their attackers have absconded from the Umunkwo- Azaraegbelu Community.
I was contacted and informed of the dastardly incident. So I rushed to Emmanuel Hospital Nkwoemeke (Emekuku) to see the victim, Elder Emmanuel Emeribe and his son.
From there, I visited his family house at Umunkwo Community, after which I was taken to the house of the attacker, Emmanuel Emeribe, and his family. When I got there, behold their house was under lock and key.
Also, I was taken to the scene of crime (the farmland), and was shown the exact spot the crime was committed.
Mr Commissioner Sir, this is not the first time Emmanuel Emeribe and his family would threaten the life of elder Alexander Emeribe.
They have been threatening to kill him, and today they implemented the threat and almost succeeded.
I am therefore demanding the immediate arrest of Emmanuel Emeribe, his wife (Stella Emeribe) and his children (Abigail, Onyewuche, David, Joel, and Maduawuchi), for the attempted murder of elder Alexander Emeribe and his son, Chizaram.
Dangerous and violent minds like Emmanuel Emeribe should not be allowed to continue to threaten people.
