Massob differs with Buhari over Boko Haram, ISIS

* Massob also denies losing any member in Onitsha

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has denounced the recent statement by President Muhammadu Buhari that Boko Haram have no links with ISIS.

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has denounced the recent statement by President Muhammadu Buhari that Boko Haram have no links with ISIS.

It says it is further “evidence that betrays his sympathy, sponsorship and membership of Boko Haram.

“He has deliberately and consciously defended his kinsmen, Fulani herdsmen on the genocidal war on Indigenous people of Igbo, Idoma, Tiv, Yoruba etc.

“Today, he’s defending Book Haram from ISIS because the International community condemns ISIS with all their alliances and associates including his Book Haram which the Hausa Fulani uses as pressure factor to clinch the presidency.

“MASSOB draw the attention of the International community to this diplomatic damage and abortion by president Buhari.

Buhari is busy granting Amnesty and soft landing for the Hausa Fulani Boko Haram while our brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Benjamin Onwuka and others are languishing in different prisons in Nigeria.

The organization also denied the widespread media report yesterday that two of its members died in a skirmish with the Police in Onitsha, Anambra state.

This was contained in a press statement by the leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu and signed by the MASSOB’s National Director of Information, Comrade Samuel Edeson.

The organization noted that “…MASSOB under the leadership of our only Leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu was shocked to read in some national newspapers that two of our members were killed in Okpoko, Onitsha.

“For clarity purposes, MASSOB wishes to inform Biafrans that our members were not killed or engaged with police or any rival group or agency in any form of combat, misunderstanding or fighting whether in public or private whatsoever anywhere.

“Our investigation shows that ugly incident caused by overzealousness and military tendencies of Ralph Uwazurike- led Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) members wrecked the havoc.”

The statement further noted that “when the leadership of MASSOB expelled Uwazuruike on 30th Nov, 2015 at MASSOB headquarters, Okwe over criminal activities, financial recklessness, open political romance with the Nigerian Government/Hausa Fulani and deviation from the original Biafra struggle, he quickly formed a new group called Biafra Independent Movement (BIM).

“Some former MASSOB members still loyal to him switched over with him and became BIM members. Since then, they ceased to be MASSOB members.

“Unfortunately, some members of the public sees them as MASSOB members even some confused ones among them still parades themselves as members of MASSOB.

“Since our new Leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu took over the leadership of MASSOB with Okwe as its headquarters, MASSOB has undergone a rigorous transformation and new orientation with human face;

“A new MASSOB that carries Ndigbo along where every genuine Igboman is a stakeholder.

“MASSOB hereby once again advice members of BIM to go by their name, you can’t be a BIM member and MASSOB member at the same time.

“People should stop allowing themselves to be deceived.
