Uche Okafor-Mefor, former deputy leader of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra and director of Information and Communication in the newly formed Biafra Defacto Customary Government has wished Alhaji Asari Dokubo who is the chairman of Biafra Defacto Customary Government a very happy Eid Mubarak.
Millions of Muslims across the globe are celebrating Eid Mubarak which is a religious holiday observed by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
Mefor in a statement lambasted those he described as hypocrites pretending to be fighting for freedom while swimming in the ocean of religious bigotry.
He said Nnamdi has taken religious bigotry to a very disappointingly destructive and discriminatory level such that members of the separatist group are more than ever before divided along religious line.
However, Uche-Mefor reaffirmed that there will be religious freedom when the defunct nation of Biafra is restored.
The statement read in part, “Hypocrites pretending to be fighting for freedom. Whether you like it or not, Biafran Muslims in Biafraland have rights to exist and must certainly exist in accordance with freedom of worship like others.
“I am not Nnamdi Kanu. I am not a religious bigot. Nnamdi Kanu has taken religious bigotry to a disappointingly self-destructive, discriminatory level such that Biafrans are more than ever before divided along religious line.
“The evidence is there— behold the comments of the extremist religious zealots under the inspiration and followership of Nnamdi Kanu.
“But make no mistakes about this —–There must be religious freedom in Biafraland. Biafra must be a secular society.”
