Military commiserates with families of 5 killed in Yola Sallah accident


Authority of the 23 Armour Brigade Headquarters, Yola, of the Nigeria military has commiserated with the families of five killed in a head-collusion involved military truck and Toyota pickup at Ngulore Bridge on Sallah day.

Brigade Commander of the 23 Armour Brigade, Yola, Col. Aba Popoola visited the families of crushed victims at Ngulore in Yola South Local Government area of the State where he donated unspecified amount to the families of the deceaseds.

The Brigade commander who was represented by Col Ahmed Sabo said the military authority in the state was sad over the ugly development and therefore sympathised with the victims’ families in their dark period.

“The military authority under the present administration is committed to protect the civilian populace in line with its constitutional responsibility”

“We heard of the accident; we felt bad since human lives were involved we decided to identify with the families if the deceaseds in their trial period”

He explained that the members of military one day will return back to the civil society they belong to stressing that the era of soldiers harassing civilian is over.

The District head of wuro Yanka, Alhaji Abubakar Baba Lawan commended the military authority in the state for showing concerned over the plight of the deceaseds.

He said that the military institution in state has built trust in the mind of civilian populace in the locality.

“We never believed that the military authority will visit us to sympathise. We thanked them for their coming to identify with us in the day of trouble” he said

The representative of the five deceased families thanked the military authority in the state for assisting the deceased families with cash.
