Senator Peter Nwaoboshi who is a member of the committee informed newsmen that no fewer than four officials of the National Assembly have appeared before the joint Committees investigating the missing budget.

Senate had during the plenary confirmed that the 2016 budget was indeed missing, haven earlier denied reports to that effect.

The confirmation was made through a point of order raised by Senator Enyinaya Abaribe (Abia South), calling on Senators to look into the issue of the missing budget because of the controversy it has been generating.

But Senate President Bukola Saraki said that the upper legislative chamber would wait for the committee, which was set up at Tuesday’s executive session to look into the matter and to get back to it on Thursday.

“As we know we are all part of the decision. We gave assignment to some people and they will come back tomorrow,” he said.
