Naira Marley: I’m the problem of Nigeria, not govt or SARS

Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola populary known as Naira Marley, has aimed a thinly-veiled dig at the federal government, amid his trial over alleged fraud charges.

The singer subtly claimed to be the “problem” of the country — not the federal government or officials of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The singer’s comment comes hours after his ongoing trial at the federal high court in Lagos State was further adjourned till December.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is charging the ‘Soapy’ crooner with 11 counts bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit credit cards, and fraud.

The anti-graft agency had on Wednesday, tendered as exhibit before the court, an iphone and laptop belonging to singer allegedly containing incriminating materials.

Few hours after Thursday’s adjournment of his trial in court, the talented singer took to his Twitter page to drop a post which seemed to reflect his distaste for the manner in which his trial is going.

“Naira Marley is the problem of Nigeria not sars, not police and not the government,” he wrote in a flurry of tweets.
