The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has shut down its headquarters for two weeks following the death of a member of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of NDDC, Mr. Ibanga Etang.
Etang, until his death, was the Acting Executive Director of Finance and Administration.
The directive to shut down the premises was contained in an internal memo signed by Mr. Silas Anyanwu on behalf of the management.
Reports say Etang died of suspected Covid-19, the virus ravaging the entire globe.
He reportedly died at about 2am on Thursday at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Port Harcourt after a brief illness.
The management directed all employees to shut down the headquarters of the commission for two weeks with immediate effect.
