The Acting President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has assured that the Federal Government is putting finishing touches on policies that will see the country restructured soon.
Prof Osinbajo made the disclosure at the presentation and launch of a book titled “Nigeria: The Restructuring Controversy” in Abuja on Thursday.
Elombah.com had, on July 3, reported that the All Progressives Congress [APC] has resolved to address the issue of restructuring of the federation.
The APC resolution to restructure the federation follows a major shift in its political posture since assuming power in May 2015.
According to the report, the party made the resolution to inaugurate a technical committee this week.
The committee would comprise the APC leadership as well as some of its governors and National Assembly members, to work out details of the planned restructuring.
This was the highlight of a meeting held at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, by the leadership of APC and state governors elected on the party’s platform.

At the book launch, Osinbajo said that all the agitations for restructuring of the country by Nigerians were being noted by the government.
He said: “We are looking at all contributions made by Nigerians across the country.
“Very soon we will come out with policies to address the call for restructuring of the country.”
He, however, warned that Government will not tolerate any act or speech capable of causing disaffection among the various ethnic groups in the country.
He asked Nigerians to be committed and loyal to the peace of the country, saying that separation was not the answer to the country’s challenges.
“It is in our interest as a nation to continue to dialogue for the unity and peace of the country,” he said
“Equity, fairness and justice can only be achieved under a peaceful atmosphere.
“We must not do those things that will turn us against each other,” he added.
The Acting President was represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Sen. Babafemi Ojudu.
