NNPC Pledges $30m To Support Fight Against COVID-19

As NAF primes oxygen plant to support hospitals, isolation centers

The Group Managing Director [GMD] of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation [NNPC], Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari has announced donation of the “sum of $30 million Industry-wide Collective Support in the Fight against #COVID-19 in Nigeria.”

Mallam Kyari announced this while addressing the press on Oil & Gas Industry Collective Response and Support in the Fight against Coronavirus [COVID-19] in Nigeria.

Speaking, Mallam Kyari said: “We are announcing, in the first instance, the sum of $30million Industry-wide Collective Support in the Fight against #COVID-19 in Nigeria.”

He added that the “intervention will be integrated within the Federal Government’s initiative of bringing the impact of the #COVID19 pandemic within control.”



In another development, the Nigerian Air Force has announced that it is currently running its Liquid Oxygen (LOX) Plant at the 103 Strike Group Yola on 24hrs generator power supply to ensure uninterrupted production of pure LOX.

The LOX is being gasified and will be stored in cylinders for supply to isolation centres and designated hospitals as part of the NAF’s contribution to efforts aimed at tackling the COVID-19 emergency.
