No Consensus Candidates In Zamfara —Senator Marafa
Senator Kabiru Marafa on Thursday responded to claims that there was no consensus candidates in Zamfara state saying at no time the stakeholder agreed to have consensus candidates for the 2019 general elections.
The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] said it barred the All Progressives COngress [APC] from fielding governorship, state assembly, and national assembly candidates in the coming elections.
This is because it did not meet the October 7 deadline for conduct of primaries.
But in a letter challenging the action of the commission, Marafa said it is incorrect to state that primaries did not hold in Zamfara.
However, Marafa while addressing newsmen said that there was no consensus candidates at the October 7, in Zamfara state.
“The only thing I saw that is wrong in the letter of the National chairman of the party is that there was consensus,” he noted.
“There was no consensus until the closing of primary elections.
“If you forced any consensus on us, people are going to revolt,” he stressed
