The Presidency has announced that there will be no presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today, Monday, May 18

Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina announced this on his social media handle.

ElombahNews had earlier in the morning reported that President Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians today as the first phase of the gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown winds down.

The national coordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani announced this on Sunday while appearing on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

Mr Aliyu noted that recommendations have been made to President Buhari and that everyone will have to wait for his decision on Monday.

According to him, none was ever planned.

Instead of a presidential broadcast, he noted, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps.
