Gov Obiano introduces violence into the November 6 governorship election campaign
Orders thugs to pull down all campaign billboards of Ifeanyi Ubah in Anambra state
Orders Jude Emecheta to resign immediately or be sacked tomorrow morning
Governor Willie Obiano has just introduced violence into the November 6 Anambra state governorship election. As I write, thugs are going round the state, pulling down all campaign billboards belonging to Senator Dr Ikemba Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP).
The governor is equally angry with the MD, Chief Jude Emecheta of Anambra State Signage And Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) for allowing Senator Ifeanyi Ubah to erect his campaign billboards.
Despite the fact the Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has paid over 10 million naira to the Anambra state government through ANSAA covering the official fees for billboard advertisement in the state, the governor ordered thugs to pull them down.
A reliable source has just informed AIF Media that the governor called Jude Emecheta on phone and asked him to tender his resignation immediately, and if he fails to do so, he will sack him by tomorrow morning.
This Political violence that governor Obiano has introduced into the November 6 governorship election must be condemned by all lovers of democracy and peaceful election.
Everybody must be allowed to campaign freely in this election.
We have all the receipts that the YPP senator paid to the Anambra State Government before mounting his campaign billboards.
It is more sad that while APGA government collected over 10 million naira from Ifeanyi Ubah, the governor still went ahead to order thugs to destroy all the billboards.
This is a clear invitation for anarchy.
ANSAA has no choice than to maintain the contractual agreement it has with Dr Ikemba Ifeanyi Ubah campaign organization that paid for one year from March 8, 2021 March 7, 2022.
About 12 billboards have been destroyed in the last 6 hours and the governor should respect the agreement the state agency (ANSAA) has with Ubah and restore them.
Obiano has lost every battle he started with Ifeanyi Ubah and he must lose one too.
Fight Ifeanyi Ubah and end up in shame.
