Opinion | How Wike can wisely deal with Nnamdi Kanu ~ By Ifeanyi Chijioke

Negative emotion is overflowing. I saw Nyesome Wike dancing to the crude beat of emotion. The children of the police men murdered and their wives received sympathy; yes, because there was no one to sympathize with the wives and children of innocent men those police men murdered before their demise.
Police brutality is real. In one way or another; those police men killed have involved- directly or indirectly in the murder of Nigerians/Biafrans. The bone of contention is ENDSARS protest- we saw policemen burnt and soldiers killed- a gruesome death per say- yet, we have to look at even. It is the constitutional duty of the chief security of Rivers to ensure the safety of his security personnel. To some extent; Wike’s action is justified but he is executing it in a wrong way.
It was unfortunate ENDSARS was hijacked by Nnamdi Kanu and the subsequent result was arson and murder. It was a clear case of poke nosing. Nigeria is different from Biafra. Nigerians were on their peaceful protest; why not leave them to do their thing? You started menstruating on your radio station. You became the leader of Nigerian youths and today; this is where idiocy brought us.
IPOB was not responsible for the wreckage. Nigerian youths burnt police stations and attacked police personnel and soldiers for the brutality against them. Although the utterances of Nnamdi Kanu made my claim irrelevant but that cannot rightly alter the fact that Nnamdi Kanu is a man known for taking glory of what he knows nothing about. Wike will insist the talkative and menstruating leader of IPOB did everything because he claimed everything. He is right to do so but entirely wrong to unleash military against innocent Obigbo people.
I cannot rightly stay here and tell you Nnamdi Kanu is innocent. I saw some of the things he said on social media and I asked myself if he had lost his head. Biafrans protested for sovereign state of Biafra but Nigerians stood by and watched because they had nothing to do with us. They started their own protest; we joined them and even claimed to be the leader of the imaginary revolution we tried to enforce. The revolution is nowhere to be found and our dead bodies are littered on the streets.
Nyesome Wike is right to fight back but he chose a very timid and irresponsible way to fight. When a man is suffering from a disease; you don’t fight the symptoms of the disease- rather, you fight the disease. Wike declaring entire Rivers state a no-go-area for indigenous people’s movement is a fight without tact. Eventhough Wike succeeded in stopping the people with guns and bullets- in the end, Rivers is at loss.
In spite of the many killed so far; will it make Nnamdi Kanu to stop ranting and going about his rogue business? Unleashing the military will only strengthen the resolve of the people to pursuing what they desired so much. Biafra is an ideology guns and bullets cannot kill. In the next couple of months, Biafra agitation or meetings will commence again.
Nyesome Wike failed to act like a father and a learned person. He is acting more or less like an agboro. Why not kindly file a matter against Nnamdi Kanu who has committed a terrorist act by placing 100m Naira bounty on the head of a legitimate governor of the federal republic of Nigeria. Needless to pointing out the areas Wike can exploit to nailing the young man because he knows the business more than I do.
When an illegitimate power places a ransom on a legitimate power; it is a terrorist act that can be prosecuted. Instead of unleash the military on victims of the situation; Wike should have sort international arrest warrant while securing local arrest warrant for the leaders of the organization.
The military can kill a million people in Obigbo- Nnamdi Kanu doesn’t even know those people killed neither has he any business with them. The only business is he told them he would give them Biafra and they lost their heads to the fraudster. When another man’s corpse is being moved to the cemetery- it is more like firewood to us because the deseased doesn’t relate with us.
Arresting leaders of IPOB in Nigeria and monitoring those abroad while using Interpol against Kanu was the best Wike would have done than making life unbearable for innocent people and victims of the situation in Obigbo. Intervening and withdrawing the military now can usher in a new approach.
