Oshiomhole replies Oyegun, says address me openly
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress [APC], Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has responded to the statement credited to the former chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, asking him to stay clear clear of the duties of the Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
ElombahNews had earlier reported that Chief Odigie-Oyegun asked his successor, Comrade Oshiomhole, to desist from interfering in the affairs of Governor Obaseki.
Oyegun gave the advice in a statement signed by his Public Affairs Adviser, Chief Ray Morphy, on Sunday in Abuja, appealing to Oshiomhole to stop disgracing the governing party APC and Edo state.
Responding to the statement, Oshiomhole said that though he does not want to join issues with his predecessor but would have preferred him to address him directly.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Simon Ebegbulem, the party chairman, Oshiomhole, said:
“I have no comment. Chief Oyegun is a respected leader of the party and an elder statesman.”
“Comrade Oshiomhole has so much respect for him.
“If he really want to address Oshiomhole he can come out openly to address the man who succeeded him in office and not one Morphy.”
