Osun State Tops The List Of States Owing Teachers Salary

Thirteen states have not paid their teachers some for as long as 28 months according to Nigeria Union Teachers (NUT)

** Osun state 28 months
** Nasarawa 26
** Kogi 25
** Benue 12
** Ekiti 9
** Bayelsa 7 and half months
** Taraba six months
** Abia and Kaduna 5 months
** Ondo 4 months
** Kwara and Delta 2 months
** Oyo, 1 month.

NUT President, Comrade Alogba Olukoya, revealed this at the union’s 2018 annual gathering. He said the union is compiling reports from across the states before embarking on the strike. He added that both primary and secondary school teachers are affected. “When we get report on salary, if it is not encouraging we will embark on strike. The next is the state of decays in our schools’ laboratories and libraries,” he said.

Olukoya appealed to the states to pay or begin to see the wrath of the Nigerian teachers. He, however, said Benue state will be excused from the strike because of the security challenges affecting the state at the moment. He said the union has received assurance from the state government that the outstanding salaries will be paid soon.

Where is Mr Sola Fasure ? The Media Adviser to Osun State Governor Mr Rauf Aregbesola, Fasure said the state government is not owing any of its workers, including the teachers, according to the modulated arrangement. His words, “The State Government of Osun is not owing teachers or any category of workers for that matter outside of the state’s modulated salary structure.” like Fasure like Hon. Baderinwa Adelani

The number of teachers affected in the 13 states were said to be about 300,000.

How do u expect hungry teachers to teach well? Good and standard education is not by beautiful schools or Opon Imo an #8.6billion project that vanished in less than 2years. It is no more a news that Osun state came 33rd position in the last WAEC and NECO and this year will not be exceptional as far as status quo remain the same in the sector.

What will Aregbesola tell Osun teachers during 2018 Osun state governorship election campaign? ………… Ti e ba ngbo O’Fail, Aregbesola lo nje be
