Paris Club Windfall: Udom Emmanuel Spent N2.5b On Lagos Lodge Borehole

Lest we forget, Udom Emmanuel was not elected by the people of Akwa Ibom State. He was foisted and forced on the people of the state by the former governor of the state. His actions now truly reveals that he is doing his master’s biddings. Udom lacks thoughts of his own except the scripts of his master.

I believe that one day, Akwa Ibom state will be free from the apron strings of those who do not have the interests of the state except their self interests. If Udom were to be wise enough, he should work with other stake holders to relocate Mobil Headquarters to the state. Building a nine point something billion naira lodge is a waste of people resources.

There are many abandoned roads in the state and there are no federal highways for the ordinary Akwa Ibom indigenes to travel to Lagos because the roads from Umuahia to Lagos and Ikot Ekpene -Aba roads are not only impassable but they are death traps. Udom and his co travelers will arrive Lagos using available airlines under one hour while it will take ordinary citizens who cannot afford a plane ticket more than 8 hours if they arrive safely.

Udom Emmanuel needs to detach himself from cronyism and start to work for the general good of all Akwa Ibom state. He can take example from Alaska’s oil dividend fund , where every Alaskan from 18 years and above who have voted in the elections is paid about two thousand dollars every year.
