The National Executive Committee [NEC] of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] has resolved to hold its National Convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The decision was reached at the 83rd NEC meeting which took place at at the Wadata Plaza secretariat, the party national headquarters in Abuja on Friday.
Briefing reporters at the end of the meeting, spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbodiyan said, the choice of Port Harcourt was a “unanimous decision” at the NEC.
He also said the meeting assured all aspirants of a free and fair election during the convention.
Mr Ologbondiyan also said the NEC resolved that all aspirants would sign an agreement with the party officials to accept the outcome of the convention
ElombahNews had on September 27 reported that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike declared that there will be consequences if PDP “succumbs to pressures from planted PDP Presidential Aspirants to move the party’s National Convention away from Rivers State.
NEC on Friday resolved that the convention will be held in Port Harcourt according to Wike’s wishes.
