PDP may not have candidate Nov. 6, only YPP, ADC LP have candidates
By Eneh Victor Chigozie
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may not have candidate for the Anambra State 2021 governorship election on November 6 as Senator Ugochukwu Uba, the factional governorship candidate of PDP has secured an order of the court against Valentine Chineto Ozigbo , PDP and INEC.
The order which was issued by Justice Obiorah Nwabunike of the state high court Awka ordered PDP to stop parading Val Ozigbo as the candidate of the party for November 6 governorship election.
It also ordered PDP not to submit the name of Val Ozigbo as the candidate of the party for November 6 governorship election.
And ordered INEC not to receive the name and particulars of Val Ozigbo as the candidate of PDP for November 6 governorship election.
The court granted an order for accelerated hearing of the substantive mater and also granted a leave for Ozigbo to be served by a substituted means.
The court said the order stands pending the determination of the suit.
The implication with this order is that PDP may not submit the name of any candidate to INEC before July 9, which is the last day for political parties to submit name of their candidate to the Commission.
[See down below the court order.]
As it stands today…
As it stands today, July 7, 2021, it is only YPP, ADC and Labour party that have candidates for November 6 Anambra state governorship election.
APC, PDP and APGA have no candidates yet.
- APGA has 3 candidates.
- PDP has 2 candidates.
- APC is parading Andy Uba without holding any governorship primaries as clearly stated by INEC in its report. Andy did not emerge through any known process, acceptable within the law.
Because of INEC report, they are using the President to deceive other APC aspirants who are aggrieved. They are doing that to stop them from challenging the fake result announced by Gov Dapo Abiodun.
They kept giving the aspirants hope that the party leadership will go for a consensus. But our investigation reveals that APC leaders are doing so to ensure that 14 days stipulated by law for any aggrieved aspirant to challenge the outcome of party primaries in court elapses.
After 14 days, they will invite the aspirants and ask them to go and support Andy Uba. And by then it will be late for these aspirants to approach the court and stop the BenJohnson way candidate. And 14 days from June 26 is July 10, that’s this Saturday.
So far, in APGA all the court orders in relation to November 6 governorship candidate of APGA are against Oye. Chief Edozie Njoku has an order in his favour. The court injunctions Oye got at Orerekpe, Delta state and Awka have all been vacated.
I am aware that Jude Okeke has an order which is being challenged at an appellate court.
In PDP, it is Eselu vs others. So far the Uga billionaire is in control of all the judicial pronouncements. There has not been any favourable decision in favour of Valentine Chineto Ozigbo .
However, it is not uhuru for any side as all these cases will end at the Supreme court before November 6 governorship election.
We will continue to update you.
