PDP Scribe Olisa Metuh goes on hunger strike, to sue EFCC

Unofficial source squealed to Elombah.com that Chief Metuh took the stance in protest to what he considered unjustified and unjustifiable arrest and witch-hunt.

The incarcerated National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], Chief Olisa Metuh [above] has vowed not to eat or drink while in detention.

Unofficial source squealed to Elombah.com that Chief Metuh took the stance in protest to what he considered unjustified and unjustifiable arrest and witch-hunt.

According to our source, Mr. Metuh, who was also barred from access to legal representation during the interrogation, have vowed to drag the EFCC to court.

Earlier, Metuh had written a 2-page statement explaining that as Director of Media and Publicity of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign organisation, he received money on behalf of the Directorate of Media and Publicity.

He further said that the money was sourced from private individuals and companies during the election campaigns hence were not public funds but rather private contributions specifically for the Presidential and other campaigns.

He said former president Goodluck Jonathan called him & gave him an assignment, a task which he carried out perfectly well & reported back to the former president who was satisfied with job done.

That if the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC] has any case they should charge him to court and that he is ready to defend himself.

He claimed that he disbursed all monies to those it was meant for but will not give details until he is charged to court, insisting that the former president directed he should give a bank account for which the job can be funded & he gave his company account.

He also took a swipe at the Muhammadu Buhari presidency, calling it “a desperate, weak and wicked government.”

According to our source, the EFCC is expected to release Metuh on the directive of President Buhari which is yet to come as at the time of this report.

Although Olisa Metuh has finished answering all questions on the allegations & made a short 2-page statement to that effect, he spent the night at EFCC custody.

It could be recalled that some days ago, the outspoken National Publicity Secretary raised alarm over plans by the ruling Party to gag him through a phony probe into corruption charges involving him.

Today, Mr. Metuh is being detained by the EFCC, an anti-graft agency, over the same allegations he cried of.
