Poem: A wrong love made in heaven

By Ifeanyi Chijioke

28

(this poem is specially for those that have lost sweet love. It’s not a solution but paints regret and confusion. You could be confused like the author but the best option is to move on. I think the author is sluggish, he doesn’t want to be a man and move)

How are you sweetie, my crush, my wrong love…

Beautiful, your hair spins my soul, my stars…

Worries with regrets are buried in the sands of time…

Often, the hands of the clock are taken backward…

Not even the best shape of sex and beauties have killed my love for you.

Too many beautiful women but, only your ugliness satisfies me.

Heaven is filled with wickedness, oh, this heaven…

This greatest love we shared but heaven didn’t make us…

What more than negativity can this unpatriotic tongue say?

You look gorgeous but we weren’t meant to be…

You look gorgeous and beautiful because I see them in you…

Not because you are the most gorgeous or beautiful…

Nothing could change your beauty in my eyes…

This love is undying, this love makes my hair stand…

The whirlwind of life, we couldn’t tame it…

The whirlwind blew out our love beyond our reach…

Because we weren’t meant to be, heaven is wicked…

Is heaven really filled with wickedness or our sheer mistakes?

Is this a wrong accusation against heaven?

Do you know if heaven regrets we lost a treasure given to us?

But we wanted the torment to end, isn’t torment the real sign of true love?

The devil in us says ‘leave it, it’s gone forever’

A whisper from the dark says ‘I can live without this tormenting love’

While nothing says ‘God has a plan to keep us no matter how apart we be’

Even when you see these eyes, we need no prophet…

To know this is love, or, we weren’t meant to be…?

Is there another world, is reincarnation real?

Where we will get it right next time if opportunity comes…

Our separate ways in this world, we gonna survive?

The story we shared and the world we didn’t want…

These bodies we rejected, apart we wander in search of love…

Broken apart and sailed to the world of others….

To find love and end this underlying despair…

We felt hurt, we felt despair, we felt pains but…

We wonder if they are all embodiment of love?

We stood and crashed, stood and failed, now stood apart..

Broken apart, to find in another world a better love…

I look more handsome now, aren’t you more beautiful?

Facing my storm here, to survive and replace you…

Isn’t there a storm there for you, or heaven has blessed you?

If you have time, read my tutored lines but…

Don’t be charmed because this greatest love is cursed…

We can live on earth and live without love…

We can born, lie with different men and women…

Yet love remains a fantasy, an illusion pinned on a broken heart…

The bitter taste of love and the sweetest taste of love…

We have had it from both ends, from you and from me…

I have learned a character, you can learn another…

I have not seen you for years, many women in my life…

Yet, an undying love lies beneath the loves I have had…

I put a lot of energy believing you are no more part of me…

Do you feel the same and can I still make you fly?

Let’s get a cup of shekpe and shake it…

Remember this love, remember the names of our unborn children..

Children we killed ever before they became ovaries…

Do not squeeze your face, face the bittersweet taste of shekpe…

The whirlwind of love is shaping the man in me…

Hope it shapes yours with shouldering the burden…

Of a wrong love made in heaven..

Take your time, it’s been long…

Will this poem stir sleepless night?

In the dead of the night I sang it…

Let’s share the sleepless nights, you and I…

Even if another man is lying next to you…

If there is still love, you will go solo tonight…

You will want to be alone to remember our cursed love…

It’s worth remembering, once more and more…
