Police Burst Child Kidnap Syndicate, Rapists, Burglars, Brother Killer In Anambra

The police at Ozubulu,Ekwusigo council of Anambra State have arrested 27 year old man, Chukwuma Enemuo of Amakwa village Ozubulu for alleged kidnap and child trafficking.

The suspect was said to have conspired with one Obi Chidubem ‘m’ aged 45 years of Umuabuche Eziama village Uli in Ihiala LGA who sold his three-day old baby boy at the sum of One hundred and fifty thousand Naira (N150,000) to one Mrs Anulika Okafor ‘f’ aged 39 years of Uruokwe village,Ozubulu.

In a release from the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Mohammed Haruna (SP),”the suspect lied to his wife, one Mrs Oluchi Enemuo, ‘f’, aged 20 years of Okwutu Amakwa by telling her that the baby was dead shortly after delivery.

“Meanwhile,all the three suspects have been arrested, the baby was also recovered and case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution”.

Also, the Police detectives, Oyi Division arrested One Okwuchukwu Anyanwu, 36 years and Emeka Odoh, 25 years both of Ezi Umunya in Oyi LGA of Anambra State for allegedly raping a mentally-challenged girl, Nwanneka Nwaizu, aged 23 years.

The detectives consequently visited the scene and had taken the victim to the General Hospital Onitsha for medical examination and treatment.

The case was still being investigated after which suspects would be charged to Court.

In another development and following intelligence report, the police detectives attached to ‘B’ Division Awka arrested members of criminal syndicate who specializes in burglary and shop breaking,

(I). Kasim Bala ‘m’ aged 48 yrs and,
(I) Uche Nwankwo ‘m’ aged 24 years all of Ndiora Ezinato , Amansea in Awka North LGA of Anambra State.

The suspected burglars were arrested at Ndiora, Amansea and their houses searched where the following properties suspected to have been stolen were recovered:

(1) Four plastic chairs property of one Francis Ufele
(2) one big-size Samsung TV property one Dr Donatus Onwu
(3) one LG TV
(4) one Philip TV
(5) one Samsung TV
(6) Three speakers
(7) one extension wire
(8) one DVD player
(9) one Nokia cell phone
(10) one Tecno cell phone and,
(11) one pressing iron.

Meanwhile, effort is ongoing to identify owners of the remaining properties after which suspects would be prosecuted.

In another development, the Anambra Police Command has early this morning arrested a law graduate of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) who recently returned from his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) training at Owerri in Imo State-Victor Ohale ‘m’ aged 28 years of No. 8 Oraeri Street GRA Agu Awka for the alleged stabbing and killing of his younger brother Kelechi Ohale ‘m’ aged 19 years of the same address with the aide of a knife.

The duo who hail from Emekuku in Owerri North LGA of Imo State, police learnt stabbed Kelechi on the head.

Detectives on receiving the report visited the scene and took the victim to the hospital where he was certified dead on arrival at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching hospital Awka by the Medical doctor on duty.

The corpse was deposited at the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Consequently, five knives used in perpetrating the crime were also recovered from the suspect and registered as exhibit.

According to to the Anambra state Police command’s public Relations Officer (PPRO),SP Haruna Mohammed, the case which is now under investigation would be charged to court for prosecution.
