A police officer, Sergeant Zakariah John, attached to the Counter Terrorism Unit in Maiduguri, Borno State, was arrested for selling ammunition to cattle rustlers and other vicious criminals.
He was arrested in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, by members of the Special Task Force.
He was arrested alongside a suspected rustler – Sani Muhammed.
Others also arrested are Patrick Choji and Yakubu Davou.
They were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and causing havoc to innocent Nigerians.
These criminals were all arrested from various flash spots, some from Jos North, Jos South, Barkin Ladi and Nasarawa State.
One of the arrested rustlers confessed that a policeman supplies him and his team ammunition and their arrest led to the arrest of Sergeant John.
In his statement, he said he sold round of ammunition at the price of N450.
According to him, it used to be N400 but the supplier increase the price due to scarcity of the product.
