Senator Ifeanyi Ubah celebrates Sir. Emeka Offor, prays God to bless him
Today, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating Sir (Dr.) Emeka Offor for his formidable contributions to the betterment of humanity and his innumerable strides in the eradication of Polio in Nigeria which has earned Nigeria the “polio free status” as officially declared by Africa’s Regional Certification Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Over the years, Sir. Emeka Offor has remained a household name in philanthropy as he has single-handedly played a lead role in pioneering robust and sustainable initiatives aimed at eradicating polio totally in Nigeria.
It is on record that Sir. Emeka Offor is currently the Rotary International Polio Ambassador to Nigeria who has cumulatively contributed over 3.5 Million US Dollars towards the eradication of the polio scourge in Nigeria.
This contribution singles him out as the highest donor to the cause, on the African continent.
It will be recalled that Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF), recently donated educational materials and healthcare facilities worth millions of dollars to hospitals and academic institutions in Nigeria with books being distributed to over 77 universities, 30 polytechnics, 36 colleges of education, 7 public libraries (one in each geopolitical zone plus the FCT), 5 primary schools in each state and 7 secondary schools in every state of the federation.
Over 14 containers of consumable and medical equipment were also distributed with each of the following hospitals receiving one 40 feet container each.
Some of the institutions that received these containers are; National orthopedic hospital Enugu, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Teaching Hospital, Police hospital Abuja, University of Maiduguri teaching hospital, Federal medical center katsina, Federal medical center Bayelsa and others. [See here]
Recently, as part of Sir. Emeka Offor’s commitment to bridge the gap that exists in the African developmental hemisphere by promoting qualitative education and public health, his foundation also donated healthcare and educational equipment worth billions of Naira to Federal Medical Center in Jalingo and University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).
Undoubtedly, Sir. Emeka Offor has etched his name in the books of history and distinguished himself as a man with a clear mandate of touching lives and making the world a better place to live by giving hope to the unborn generation who would have been unfortunately struck by the disease.
As we celebrate this historic milestone today, it is my earnest prayer that God will continually bless Sir. Emeka Offor for his service to humanity and grace him with many more years filled with sound health, joy and more wisdom.
Conclusively, as a benefactor of Sir. Emeka Offor’s benevolence and the Senator representing his constituency in the National Assembly, I enjoin my supporters, well wishers and constituents to say a word of prayer for him or join the trending hashtag #GodBlessEmekaOffor to celebrate this philanthropist par excellence and great man of our time.
