Tijani Bagale said that the state is witnessing restoration of relative peace and boosting of economic activities in the capital and its environs.

Relative peace has been achieved in Borno State since when President Muhammadu Buhari come on board to date, people like me who visited the state recently can testify to this development.

The tactical approach by the military has yielded positive results in the ongoing fight against the menace of insurgency in the North-East Region specifically Borno and Yobe states where before now looks like a battle ground, because by then Maiduguri city has been an island of the dragon where all towns and villages around the capital were in full control of the insurgents, 22 out of 27 Local Government Areas were under their control.

Several attempts have been made by insurgents to have full control of Maiduguri or to gain access into the city but due to strong efforts of the military and civilian JTF, their dreams meet waterloo. All the four federal roads linking the state capital with other local government areas were compelled to be shut down due to frequent attacks on transits by Boko Haram leaving only one road which is linking the borders of the country through the state with Chad, Cameroon & Niger Republics) were also closed due to security threats.

Thousands of lives were lost and some hundreds of thousands were displaced, properties and castles worth billions of Naira were destroyed. Unaccounted number of youths including your girls with easy virtues, married women was abducted by the dreaded sect.

During my visit to the state last week, I come across many achievements which give birth to the present peaceful atmosphere which is bleak before now. Rules of engagement are fully imposed in the system of military operations in the state. These leads to a cordial relationship between the civilians and the military personnel, in which the civilians always reciprocate the gesture of the military with free feeding and other materials that can make their task of curbing the menace history.

Another is presence of fully equipped military personnel in all the formations and check points on the highway linking the state capital to other parts of the country, this according to a source put an end to attacks on transits on that particular road. Massive arrest and killing of the sect members in their various camps including Sambisa forest (the spiritual base of the sect) has recorded a tremendous success. Liberation and recapturing of all the 22 local governments headquarters that were once under the control of insurgents.

In an interview with Alhaji Tijani Bagale, a resident of Maiduguri and also a staff of MDGS Africa, he told this reporter that, the state is witnessing restoration of relative peace and boosting of economic activities in the capital and its environs.

He also lauds the gesture of both federal and state governments towards making life meaningful through given proper attention to IDPs centers across the state, where qualitative and quantitative food, shelter, medical and sanitary facilities were all provided.

He hails Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state on his giant strides towards reconstruction and rehabilitation of all destroyed communities by the insurgents across the state, in addition to empowerment and compensation of displaced persons as well as giving out scholarships to the families of the deceased (victims of insurgents) from secondary to tertiary institution.

He appeals to military to stop closing all roads to motorist whenever an eminent personality visits the ancient city; instead they should close the road they said visitor will follow.

Report said people yesterday become very afraid with the way all roads were closed during the visit of Mrs. Osibanjo. This action may takes us back to the drawing board by the time rumor mongers start revealing lies, people will become scared and start running before you know the peaceful atmosphere was messed up.

In an interview with the writer, Mrs. Grace Okon Uwah appeal to President Buhari to completed the roads from Gombe-Biu-Damaturu; Biu –Maiduguri.

She also appeal to Governor Shettima to completed the road from Mira-Gunda which was started but the work stop instantly, she also want the state government to equipped College of Education Waka with all the materials that can boost its standard, in addition to coming out with Health Technology institute in that axis, Miss Grace appeals to NTA HQ to boost their station at Biu with essential materials that can make it to work amicably to the people around it.
