Presidential Primaries: PDP Takes Measures To Ensure Free/Fair Election
The Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] has taken extra measures to ensure a free and fair election at the presidential primaries which will hold tomorrow in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The measures were outlined in a statement credited to the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan.
The statement reads:
“In order to ensure transparency in the conduct of PDP Presidential primaries, each of the aspirants had been asked to submit two persons to be part of the accreditation and electoral Committee .
“Furthermore, the names of the delegates would be made public to all aspirants before the convention.
“It must be free. It must be fair. It must be credible and acceptable by all,” said Ologbondiyan.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the PDP 2018 Elective National Convention, Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has felicitated with the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), members of the Board of Trustees (BOT), State governors, presidential aspirants, elected candidates ahead of the 2019 general elections, as well as esteemed national delegates to the 2018 National Convention.
The Presidential Candidate for the 2019 Presidential election will be elected at the Convention.
The venue is Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, Rivers State; time is Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7, 2016.
