The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has cautioned his followers to desist from making disparaging remarks against Ohaneze social cultural organization. We can recall that Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and IPOB have been in a serious disagreement over how the plight of Ndi Igbo can be addressed in Nigeria. This disagreement has caused a lot of political intrigues which in turn has created unhealthy political climate in the region
Moreover, many stakeholders in the Southeast have made concerted effort in order to reconcile Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and IPOB but unnecessary power tussle in the reconciliatory parley has refused to give peace a chance. The publication of Vanguard Newspaper on the 5th of August which dissected the outcome of the peace meeting IPOB delegates had with Ohaneze Ndi Igbo seems to have added more salt to the injury
However, Nnamdi Kanu in a statement has warned his followers to desist from making further derogatory remarks against Ohaneze Ndi Igbo. The statement reads;
“As the largest mass movement on the face of this planet, it is incumbent upon us to remain magnanimous in all our dealings with people who may not have attained the same heightened level of consciousness as we have. Our hallmark in IPOB is discipline, coupled with our now legendary command & control structure that ensures that we respond and act as one impregnable unit at at times”.
“It’s in recognition of these outstanding attributes that I humbly request the great IPOB family refrain from making or directing any disparaging remarks against Ohaneze leadership. Their deliberate misrepresentation of the outcome of our meeting is highly regretable but its now a thing of the past. The betrayal from Ohaneze was childish, mischievous and ill conceived but we must not allow ourselves to lose focus of the clear and present danger posed by a myriad of Fulani terrorist groups intent on overruning our land and enslaving us”.
“We are not going to allow the childish antics of a few misguided individuals within Ohaneze, undoubtedly on the payroll of Janjaweed Caliphate, detract, delay or undermine the vital work we are doing to set our people free”.
