Mr Val Obienyem, the personal aide to the former governor of Anambra State governor, Peter Gregory Obi, has denied the report by 247ureports that chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] has abandoned their governorship candidate, Mr Oseloka Obaze.
[Mr Oseloka Obaze is the PDP governorship candidate for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election coming up on November 18, 2017.]
Mr Obienyem said this in a telephone interview with Elombah.com on Saturday.
247ureports.com had reported that “aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants who believed the primary election was rigged have opted to desert the candidacy of Oseloka Obaze for candidates in other parties.
According to the media outfit, “Top on the list of PDP chieftains who have abandoned the PDP gubernatorial candidate is the oil mogul billionaire and politician, Chief Ifeanyi Patrick Uba.
“He had participated in the primary election for the gubernatorial ticket but was manipulated out of the process allegedly by the handlers of the PDP primary election.”
Reacting to the report, Mr. Obienyem described it as outright falsehood, adding that as we spoke, they were on a thank you tour of the 21 Anambra State local governments.
His words: “I don’t know what the report purports but as I’m talking to you now we are on a tour of the local governments in 21 Anambra State and it was difficult controlling the crowd.
“I don’t know what they mean by that report.”
Speaking about the source of the news, he said that the publisher, Mr Ikenna Ezenekwe is fond of all manner of falsehoods.
“What do you expect of Ezenekwe,” he asked.
“For a man who used his father’s sickness to dupe people, there is nothing the man cannot write. He doesn’t have conscience.
He even told my boss, Mr Peter Obi that his father had prostate cancer and we gave him ten thousand dollars.
“And I later noticed that he sent the same message to all the governors in Nigeria and they were contributing monies for him.
“And that money he did not put one kobo into his father’s purported sickness. He just used his father to make money.
“So, all I’m trying to say is that the man has no conscience. He can write anything.
“Once you give him money he can do anything. He can even kill his father once you give him money, quote me,” he concluded.
