Reps Ask Buhari To Sack NEMA DG — Maihaja — Over N33b Theft
The Houses of Representatives Committee on Emergency and Preparedness Response have asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Mustapha over theft of N33 billion.
The Lawmakers passed a vote of no confidence on Mr Maihaja during Thursday’s plenary over allegations of corruption and misappropriation of funds.
The lawmakers accused Maihaja of mismanagement of public funds and embezzlement.
A Houses ad hoc committee, which had been investigating the operations of NEMA under Maihaja, indicted him of embezzlement and demanded his immediate sack.
