RUGA: The Sad Tale Of My Generation
By Nze Ugo-Akpe Onwuka
I am so heartbroken at the way my generation has failed our fathers.
In a country where rule of law was slaughtered with a blunt knife, the judiciary caged and the legislature bought over and the youths were not on the streets, there is urgent need for a reassessment of the mental state of my generation!
In a country where the Chief Justice was unjustly jostled out of office and no single youth marched to save the third tier of government from the stranglehold of the executive, there is urgent need for a fast reawakening!
In a country where by the emboldening of the executive, a Senator in the full glare of the world forcefully took away the mace in company of thugs in the red chamber and the youths were not found on the streets protesting, there is urgent need for a total overhaul!
In this same country at this time, this same government has budgeted our collective funds to embark on raising Fulani Settlements, otherwise known as RUGA SETTLEMENTS across the country, in other words, forcing people to forfeit their ancestral lands to these foreign marauding, bloodthirsty and bloodletting people.
Yet I do not see any of the youths of my generation on the streets protesting!
What has gone wrong?
Yet, we have youths who are currently being raped psychologically, physically, economically, socially and emotionally trooping out to march to COZA!
What a wasted generation!
If you have been expressing such indignation against people who have been raping you as a government, we would have made progress.
If you had the common sense to stand up to this government that is already in the process of taking your father’s land and giving it to the same people who have made the whole country unsafe, we would have made a strong statement and put paid to their evil schemes.
We are too closed minded to see the real picture.
We are so numb and dumb to appreciate the level of the existential threats that we face as a people.
We are so enthused by the distractions that does not add to our well being and survival as a people.
WHO DID THIS TO US?
As you plan to occupy COZA for a job that you should leave to the police to do, I advice you to turn around and face the job of holding a government that is about wasting your generation on the altar of RUGA SETTLEMENTS.
RECEIVE SENSE MY GENERATION!
