Yes, these days there is change everywhere, and London is not left behind.
On the day that his Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari signed the 2016 appropriation bill into law and FFK is said to have hidden under his bed in a hopeless attempt to escape the EFCC.
The great people of London also made history.
Just like the unprecedented way Nigerians elected President Buhari into office, Londoners put aside their racial, ethnic, religious, political and other myopic differences to elect the first Asian and Muslim Mayor of the city.
Sadiq Aman Khan assumed the office of the Mayor of London today after beating Zac Goldsmith, the son of the late billionaire tycoon sir James Goldsmith.
Mr. Khan was born in London on 8th October 1970.
He is a human rights lawyer by profession and served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Tooting constituency, until his election as London’s Mayor.
He is a member of the Labour Party.
On behalf of everyone at CUPS at home and in Diaspora, we congratulate Mr. Sadiq Aman Khan and wish him a very successful tenure in office.
