Sanwo-Olu set to rebuild Lagos, signs executive order [update]
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has, on Wednesday, declared his interest to rebuild the facilities destroyed by mobs during the #EndSARS protests.
To that effect, Governor Sanwo-Olu has signed an executive order for the massive projects and established the Lagos State Rebuilding Trust Fund.
Speaking during the event, Sanwo-Olu said the Fund would look into structures destroyed by suspected hoodlums, which will include both public and private facilities in the state.
Presently, there are conflicting figures needed for the projects as the Lagos Chamber of Commerce gave N700 billion estimate while the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, said up to N1 trillion may be needed.
Those present during the signing of the executive order are Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; and Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo.
