Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Tuesday again reshuffled the Standing Committees of the Red Chamber appointing Senators Andy Uba, Stella Oduah, Olamilekan Adeola, Matthew Urhoghide and Raji Rasaki as committee chairmen.
In the new arrangement, Senator Adeola Olamilekan, formally the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Communications is now to head the Committee on Local Content.
Also, Senator Stella Oduah is now a substantive Chairman Committee on Cooperation and Intergration, while Senator Bukar Mustapha now heads the Capital Market Committee and Senator Andy Uba as chairman of Senate Committee on Interior who was former chairman of committee on Public Account.
In addition, Matthew Uroghide who was former chairman on Culture was appointed as chairman on Public Account, and Senator Raji Rasaki is now chaired Committee on Culture.
It was gathered that defection of Andy Uba to the All Progressives Congress (APC) had necessitated the need for him to move over to the interior Committee, since the Committee on Public Accounts is always reserved for the opposition.
Saraki also announced the name of Senator Nurudeen Adeleke, brother to the late Isiaka Adeleke as the Vice Chairman Committee on Communications as a compensation for the death of his brother who headed the Capital Market Committee.
Other Vice Chairmen Committees announced by the Senate President include, Senator Moh’d Sani Mustapha, Trade and Investment, Senator GOdswill Akpabio, Local Content and Babajide Omoworare, Judiciary, Human rights and Legal Matters
Saraki had mid last year reshuffled the Standing Committees of the Senate as a move towards pacifying some aggrieved members, while rewarding members considered as loyal
