Sen Abaribe Yet To Be Seen After DSS Search In His House
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe is yet to be seen or heard after the Department of State Security [DSS] arrested him and later stormed his house for search.
ElombahNews gathered that nothing incriminating was found in his house now was anything disclosed to the public as constituting such.
This medium also gathered that Senator Abaribe, yesterday evening after DSS finished searching his house, was taken away to an unknown destination.’
Since his arrest, many prominent Nigerians have joined in the call for the immediate release of the lawmaker.
One such is the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief John Nnia Nwodo.
Chief Nwodo lashed out against the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government over the arrest of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe on Friday.
He insinuated that Abaribe’s arrest might be linked to the disappearance of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB], Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Lashing out against the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government over the arrest of Senator Abaribe stated that “the circumstances prevailing at the time of the disappearance of Nnamdi Kanu are beyond the contemplation of the law that a surety can guarantee the production of an accused person”.
He said that “the army in the name of “Operation Python Dance” invaded Nnamdi’s home and destabilized normalcy there,” hence the army, not Abaribe should be held accountable for his disappearance.
He concluded by demanding in an affirmative tone that “Senator Abaribe must be released forthwith”!
The Senator was suddenly arrested yesterday by operatives of the Department of State Security [DSS] without notice or reason.
Nothing has been heard from or about the Senator ever since.
Senator Abaribe is a well-known critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration whom he accuses of incompetence and cluelessness.
Senator Abaribe comes in line of a series of arrests and/or intimidation of lawmakers perceived as enemies of the present administration.
Among them are:
- The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who is being accused of sponsoring the famed Offa bank armed robbery by the Police
- Deputy Senate President, Prof. Ike Ekweremadu, accused of non-declaration of assets and embezzlement of public funds
- Senator Dino Melaye, accused of arm hustling and banditry, to mention but few.
