Senate forced into closed door session to approve Buhari’s $22.7billion external loan request
The Nigeria Senate was on Thursday forced into closed door session over $22.7 billion external loan.
The trouble started in the plenary immediately after the Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Loans and Debt , Senator Clifford Ordia presented the report for consideration.
During debate on the loan, there was tension on the floor of the Senate as Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe called on the Senate to look at the projects in the loan line by line.
Abaribe said that some senators were complaining that the projects in the loan are lopsided.
Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan however blocked Abaribe’s request for line by line consideration.
