The Senate, on Thursday, revealed ongoing investigation of State Security Service (SSS) over lopsided recruitment of 479 cadet officers into the security agency.
An online media had reported lopsided recruitment scandal by the State Security Service (SSS).
The listing of the newly commissioned cadet officers revealed wide disparity in the numbers of slots allocated to the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, indicating that the federal character principle may have been ignored in the recruitment of the officers.
However, the chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Character, Senator Tijaniya kaura who came in through point of order informed the Upper Chamber of ongoing investigation into alleged lopsided recruitment scandal in State Security Service.
In his remarks, Senate President, Bukola Saraki commended the Committee for quick swift into action on the issue.
He urged the Committee to keep senate inform about investigation.
