Senate Threatens to Blacklist erring Operator Over Dropped Calls

Senate on Thursday threatened to Blacklist any erring operator over increasing rate of dropped calls and other unwholesome practices by Telecommunication Network Operators.

The threat was issued by the Senate President, Senator Ahamad Law an after listening to contributions of Senators on unwholesome practices of Telecommunications Network following the motion sponsored by Senator Fatai Buhari.

Law an said that Senate would not only bark thus time around but bite erring Telecommunication Network Operator

Law an said,”I have listen to frustrations expressed by some of our colleagues that we can only bark , but we can’t bite , but we are going to bark and bite this time around, we will definitely do the right thing, even if it requires blacklisting an operator, we will go for that , with this I think it will be an efforts in right direction by the Senate to protect Nigerians that is why we are here.”

Senate after extensive debate on the motion resolved to conduct public investigative hearing on the unwholesome practices of Telecommunication Network operators .

While speaking the motion, Senator Buhari said GSM operators in Nigeria have recently been experiencing terrible congestion on their network thus denying subscribers the benefit of getting value for their resources.
