Senator Onyewuchi urges FG to ensure safety & preservation of Nnamdi Kanu’s rights
The Senator representing Imo East Senatorial district, Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi has called on the Federal Government to ensure the safety and preservation of the rights of the recently arrested leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
While speaking with journalists in Abuja, he called on the Federal Government to respect his fundamental human rights as guaranteed by the Constitution particularly his right to fair hearing and respect for human dignity.
He further tasked the Federal Government to address the germane issues of justice and fair play raised by Nnamdi Kanu as it concerns the South-East, advising them not to throw away the baby with the bath water.
He stressed that the issue of Justice and fair play which is a common view shared not only by Igbos should be addressed for lasting peace. As such, the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu should be viewed as an opportunity for meaningful dialogue.
