Siasia reinstalled Super Eagles coach; Amuneke, Salisu, Alloy Agu assist

Barely hours after the prophetic post of Elombah.com on Facebook, former Super Eagles  coach, Samson Siasia have been re-appointed Super Eagles coach, with Emmanuel Amuneke and Salisu Yusuf  and Alloy Agu as assistants.

Elombah.com had written: “Call me prophet if you like but we are getting there. The day Siasia was dismissed by NFF, I prophesied:

“One day NFF will go back on bended knee and beg Siasia to come back and take Nigerian to the promised land.”

“Oliseh, whom I considered most incompetent of all, throws in the towel!!!

“Stay cool we are getting there!!!!!”

The former striker has been brought back to handle the national team following the resignation of Sunday Oliseh early on Friday.

NFF Tech Committee with Siasia, Amuneke

He will be assisted by Nigeria U20 Coach Emmanuel Amuneke, Salisu Yusuf and Alloy Agu ahead of next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.

The NFF announced the developments via its website after a meeting of the Technical and Development Committee on Friday.

According to Chris Green, chairman of the Technical Committee, the coaching crew will work under the office of the NFF Technical Director Shaibu Amodu ahead of the crucial qualification duel against the Pharaohs.

“We have decided as a matter of urgency to get a consortium of coaches to oversee the team in the meantime,” Green told media upon concluding a three-hour long meeting today in Abuja.

“We have two very important matches coming up in [one in] Kaduna and the other in Cairo which seem late in the time. [Oliseh’s resignation] came as a rude shock.

“We were not guarded when this event happened. We need to do what we ought to get the best of the very bad situation,” he concluded.

Siasia will return to take charge of the Super Eagles combining with leading the Dream Team VI to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro later in the year.

He had a brief stint in charge of the Super Eagles but was sacked barely 10 months in the saddle after he failed to lead the country to the 2012 Afcon in Gabon an Equatorial Guinea.

Amuneke was coach of the Nigeria U17 team that won the Fifa U17 World Cup in Chile last year and he was recently promoted to the U20 side.
