Sickle Cell Anemia and torture of Covid19 period

Kindly donate beverages for APLSCD

319

Most Sickle Cell Patient in the hospital now due to shortage of blood are all in more serious trouble of surviving the current challenging situation

Unfortunately nobody goes to the hospital now to donate blood for our people, this is because there is a higher level of poverty in the country due to the Covid19 Lock down.

These patients who are detained due to lack of funds to pay their hospital bill can neither cook rice , boil or even fry eggs. All they were recommended by the doctors to do is to take a lot of fluids so that their cells can unsickle and the blood can easily have a Free passage devoid of painful crisis through their veins.

Consequently I am compelled to beg all my kind-hearted friends here to kindly donate beverages for people living with Sickle Cell Anemia in the hospitals, some of us here are privileged to enjoy the palliatives sent to us by some generous individuals like the wife of the Governor of Anambra State Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano and but we discovered that these group of people who are already in the hospitals sincerely have no appetite to either eat or drink because of their chronic Anemic condition

APLSCD had lost a member two days ago at Unizik Awka, Miss Chisom Awoke due to shortage of blood and poor nutrition. She has been buried while the Association mourns her sad demise.

Most Sickle Cell Community now live in fear due to the terrifying adverse effect of Covid 19 on their survival let alone when it arrives in town.

Again the use of face masks for all People living with Sickle Cell Disorder is another serious challenge to all of us because we cannot afford any short supply of oxygen in our system because this can also trigger severe crisis for us, Consequently we are now Lock up in our homes and hospital to avoid the breakdown of Law and order of Anambra State Government.

I humbly urge all my friends and well wishers reading this to kindly help to buy some beverages today and donate for our Sickle Cell Children who are facing a big cross with their fate during this period. Please do not donate any money now Except if you are in a distance area and wishes to still donate officially.

Kindly buy Milk, Chocolate drinks like Milo, Ovaltine, Bournvita, etc. And send it to our offices at:
